    Embracing diversity: inclusive education program for Palestinian schools

    Objective/Description: The project aims to improve the access to education services in East Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Jericho. Terre des Hommes works in collaboration with its partners providing support to children with special needs in 12 public schools and in 13 private schools, training the school staff, creating dedicated spaces for an inclusive education and providing school kits. Our team also provides support to families and creates campaigns to raise awareness for the community.
    Direct beneficiaries: approximately 670 between teachers and school staff in 25 institutes located in East Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Jericho and about 6,800 students enrolled (of which about 50% are female). This includes their respective families. 50 students will be supported each year with university scholarships and 460 will be supported with schools fees.
    Indirect beneficiaries: approx. 39,600 people

    Giving value to diversity: inclusive education for East Jerusalem children

    Objective/Description: The objective of the project is to improve the quality of education in 10 public schools of East Jerusalem, promoting an inclusive education. Activities also include the supply of schools kits, the support to families and to children with health problems, without documents or in trouble with the law.
    Direct beneficiaries: 2,350 students from 10 different schools in the targeted area and their parents; 120 school personnel; 100 out of school children; Ministry of Education officials/counsellors/supervisors; 10 Inclusive Education School Staff; schools involved in the network; 70 University students

    To improve resilience and psycho-physical wellbeing of marginalized Palestinian communities living in Area C and Seam Zone

    Objective/Description: The main objective of the project is to help improve the well-being of the most vulnerable Palestinian communities. For this purpose, the project will work on two different components: access to water and educational and psychosocial support to beneficiary communities. With the support of OIT, environmental conditions will improve providing safe access and constant availability of water. The team of Terre des Hommes Italy will fulfill: the creation of safe multipurpose spaces used for the organization of psychosocial, recreational, sports and pedagogical activities accessible to children and teenagers from the communities involved; meetings of raising awareness addressed to adults on issues of child protection and development; open laboratories for women in the community; medical emergency assistance courses and case identification services for basic health care services.
    Direct beneficiaries: 1.133 people living in 5 marginalized communities reached out through the WASH component of the project; 3.340 people (mainly children) supported through psycho-social activities, trainings and educational-awareness sessions
    Indirect beneficiaries: 22.249, being the total population of the 5 targeted communities
