Even today, hundreds of millions of girls and women still have to fight to have their rights respected<\/strong>, while continuing to face gender discrimination in almost every aspect of their lives.<\/p>\n The international community has made specific commitments to gender equality with the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Adolescence, the declarations of the Beijing Conference in 1995, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals. However, we are still far from the goal<\/strong>. In developing countries where we operate, girls constitute the majority of beneficiaries of projects for basic education, informal education, and vocational training.
