    OCHA – Providing life-saving food assistance to the most vulnerable crisis affected people, including people with specific needs in Rural Damascus, Homs, Aleppo and Lattakia

    Description:  The project aims to provide food assistance through the distribution of more than 18,500 food parcels for families living in Rural Damascus and in the areas of Homs, Aleppo, Lattakia. The distribution of food parcels is particularly targeted to vulnerable groups, especially those with disabilities and special needs. The process of selection of suppliers, approval and authorization, selection of beneficiaries and distribution of parcels take place thanks to the precious collaboration of Terre des Hommes and the public social Entity of the Syrian Family Commission.

    TDH Private Funds – Providing food assistance to families with PwD (people with disability) affected by the crisis in Aleppo

    Description:  The project aims to guarantee food security and to provide assistance through the distribution of “food vouchers” worth 30 euros each, for the benefit of families with PwDs (people with disability) living in the Aleppo area. Successfully completed in 2017 through the support of the Italian public donor (the Italian Cooperation), Terre Des Hommes has been able to conduct new food voucher distributions in 2018, scheduled between January and June 2018, to be spent at targeted points of sale. The distribution of food vouchers is particularly targeted to vulnerable groups, especially those with disabilities and special needs. The process of selection of suppliers, approval and authorization, selection of beneficiaries and distribution of vouchers take place thanks to the precious collaboration of Terre des Hommes and the public social Entity of the Syrian Family Commission.

    SJR4 – Providing specialized “Disability Inclusion” services for people with special needs in Aleppo and in Rural Damascus

    Description:  The project is formed by three components: the creation of two physiotherapy centres in Jaramana (Rural Damascus) and in Aleppo in support of the disabled people; supply of structured specialist psychosocial support activities (PSS, psychosocial support) for people with specific needs and the support to the rehabilitation of centres, houses, bathrooms damaged by the Syrian conflict, through the distribution of “food vouchers” worth 30 euros each, for families with PwDs (people with disability) living in the Aleppo and in Rural Damascus areas.
    Final beneficiaries: 9,500 individuals

    UNHCR – Providing multi-sector services in specific “Satellite centres” for people with special needs in the Aleppo and in Rural Damascus areas

    Description:  The project is multifunctional and inter-sectorial, it will start very soon. Through selected experts, the project will promote social inclusion activities addressing to PwDs (people with disability), to children, to women and to elderly people in the areas of Aleppo and in Rural Damascus. The project will provide to the community the accessibility and the learning of Child Protection issues, the methodologies of prevention and response to SGBV (Sexual Gender-Based Violence) and it will create in these Satellite-centres two places of awareness raising on issues related to the “Masculinity” and Equal opportunity.

    OCHA – Strengthening the protection and psychosocial well-being of children and adolescents affected by the Syrian conflict in Homs and Lattakia

    Description:  The aim of the project is to offer psychosocial assistance to children and to adolescents with disabilities who are the first victims of the ongoing Syrian conflict and to help them integrate with their peers. Through specialized services and the technical supervision of its staff, Terre des Hommes is able to help children with special needs starting from a Social Reintegration Plan that relies on specific motor- activities and on their involvement in games with groups. Moreover, thanks to the expertise of the experts, the project aims to train new groups of local volunteers on the issues of Child Protection and on structured specialist psychosocial support (PSS) activities for people in need, addressing to children and to adolescents in difficult situation.

    UNICEF – Prevention and treatment of malnutrition cases for PLW (Pregnant and Lactating Women) and for children under 5 years in Homs and in rural Homs

    Description:  In collaboration with WFP (World Food Program) and UNICEF, the project aims to improve the nutritional status of children under 5 years and of PLW (Pregnant and Lactating Women) under case management of malnutrition and the distribution of preventive nutritional supplies, with the administration of Micronutrients and Vitamin A supplements. Thanks to its nutritional experts, the nutritional project facilitates the access to preventive and curative nutritional services through IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) and CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition), according to the UNICEF standards. Through a mapping of the territory of Homs and its extended rural area, monitoring and screening activities and malnutrition case management of pregnant women at risk, provide a valuable collection of data on the nutritional situation of the geographical context.
    Final beneficiaries: 11,000 PLWs (Pregnant and Lactating Women) and 24,000 children under 5 years.
