    Description: The main objective of this project is to reduce the incidence of child labor through the protection of rights to education and health for vulnerable children living in the semi-rural communities in Huachipa. Thanks to this project, children will receive access to education, recreational activities and labs for children with learning difficulties. The action, in collaboration with local and Government institutions, includes campaigns and sessions for adults to raise their awareness on child labor and reduce this phenomenon.

    “Para los niños y las niñas de Monterrey” – Support to children in need living in Monterrey and Valle of Amauta areas (Ate District, Lima)

    Description: The project aims to ensure the access to education and healthcare for the most vulnerable children in Monterrey and Valle of Amatua areas. It includes afterschool and recreational activities and services to improve children’s health condition, such as medical check-ups and food education activities. All the actions are implemented with the collaboration of local institutions and the participation of children’s families and teachers.

    “Juntos por los derechos de los niños y niñas de Huancarani” – Together to protect children’s rights living in Huancarani (Paucartambo Province, Cusco)

    Description: The project aims to reduce child migration from the rural area of Cusco (Huancarani district) to the nearest cities and therefore reduce the risk of exploitation due to some of the worst forms of child labor. Project activities are addressed to school-age children and they include the provision of education kits, the participation to extracurricular activities, after-school projects, sporting events and cultural and artistic activities (drawing, dance, theatre, art and music). Moreover, Terre des Hommes Italy ensures health care to children through clinical tests, treatments, nutritional assistance and the promotion of economic activities to improve the level of families’ food security.

    “Más educación, salud y recreación para los niños y las niñas de la microcuenca de Quimiriki” – More education, health and opportunities for children living in Conca di Quimiriki (Chanchamayo Province, Junin)

    Description: The objective of this project is dual. On one hand, it will ensure fundamental rights for children, such as good quality education for school-age children, health care and extracurricular and recreational activities. On the other hand, the project aims to improve parents’ capacities playing an important role in the protection of their children through the transfer of knowledge on child protection and to reinforce the productive capacity of farming families of small coffee producers, by including non-traditional crops which will ensure a low-cost source of food.

    Indifesa Project: protection from violence, abuses and gender discrimination for girls and female domestic workers, victims of trafficking or exploitation (Cusco)

    Objective/Description: The Indifesa project is fully addressed to girls and women who live in vulnerable situations or who are victims of abuses. The project activities are divided in two different interventions. The first one includes prevention activities and a direct support in the education process for 100 girls, women and female domestic workers. Terre des Hommes provides them education kits, extra-curriculum activities, scholarships to improve their technical education and give them alternative employment opportunities. The second intervention includes full assistance for girls and women victims of abuses residing in the shelter home of the Yanapanakusun Center. There, they receive psychological and nutritional assistance, health care, basic and technical education, family reunification and the retrieval of their vital records.

    “Mas derechos y oportunidades para los niños y las niñas de Accha y Omacha” – More rights and opportunities for children in rural communities of Accha and Omacha (Paruro Province, Cusco)

    Description: The project aims to improve the access to fundamental rights for children members of Quechua peoples who live in communities of the Andes, in Paruro Province. The project activities include preventive actions to reduce the risk of child exploitation, awareness-raising sessions for adults to improve their role in child protection and the provision of education kits for school-age children.
